In Memory of Dean L. Orn


October 30, 1935 - May 21, 2022

Dean Leroy Orn, 86, long-time resident of the Turtle Lake area, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 after a period of declining health.

Dean was born in Rice Lake, WI on October 30, 1935 to David and Lila (Hegna) Orn.

After High School, Dean married the former Eva Hanhikoski and together had two children: Anita and Lisa. He later married the former JoAnn Trandem and spent the next forty-seven years with her. Dean worked at a number of jobs throughout the years and many area residents will remember Dean's Parts, a snowmobile repair and parts business. In the early days of snowmobiling in NW Wisconsin, Dean was actively involved in several different clubs. He had the gift of gab and could often be found sitting at his kitchen table with a pot of coffee ready to talk to anyone who might stop by.

Dean is survived by his daughter: Lisa (John) Conley; grandchildren:Evan, Alanna and Kara Conley, Lisa (Chad) Barfknecht, Joseph (Lucy) Lawrence and Rebecca (Douglas) Kileteny; great-grandchildren: Reese, Aubree, Zeke, Cole, and Grace Barfknecht and Benaiah Kileteny: nieces and nephews: Jeff (Liz) Blix, Randy (Barb) Blix, Laura Parkhurst, Brad (Heidi) Blix, and Brenda (Jim) McKinnon; and many other friends and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents: David and Lila Orn; wife: Joann Orn; and daughter: Anita Lawrence.

Services will be at the Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland at 11 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland and Turtle Lake is serving the family.
