Dean Michael Hurt Age 57, of Rice Lake, WI, died Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Marshfield Medical Center - Rice Lake.

He was born on July 10, 1962 in Burlington, WI to Jerome and Theresa (Gindt) Hurt. Dean graduated from the Bloomer High School in Bloomer, WI in 1980 and then attended college in Ely, MN. He was a truck driver, owned and operated D&R Recycling for 20 years and he also had different companies throughout the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being in the outdoors, loved talking on the phone, playing scratch-offs and making deals in his job.

He is survived by his soul partner of over 30 years, Marie Boothe of Rice Lake; a grandson, Owen Hurt; 5 stepchildren, Chasity (Ryan) Pearson of Poplar, WI, Patrick Boothe (Bonnie) of Cameron, WI, Jill Becker of Barron, WI, Julie (Brian) Scheps of Turtle Lake, WI and Ryan (Ele) Boothe of Rice Lake; 13 step grandchildren; his mother, Theresa Hurt of Eau Claire, WI; 3 brothers, Dale Hurt of Chetek, WI, David (Robin) Hurt of Rice Lake and Brian (Tricia) Hurt of Cornell, WI; a sister, Christine (Michael) Geffe of Eau Claire; many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his son, Paul Hurt; his father, Jerome Hurt; 2 sisters, Valerie Hurt and Noreen Lieberherr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Friday, December 27, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Dobie, WI, Father Ed Anderson officiating, with interment in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Thursday, December 26 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church.
