In Memory of David Strauch
David Lee Strauch Age 70, of Chetek, WI died Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at his daughter’s home in Eleva, WI.
He was born on October 12, 1948 in Leona, WI to Arnold and Joan (Belongia) Strauch. Dave graduated from the Appleton West High School in 1967 and then he entered the United States Coast Guard and served during the Vietnam Era was Honorably Discharged in 1971 and then was in the reserves until 1973. David worked in the shipyards, a paper mill, lumber mill, Mastercraft Industries and he owned and operated Dave’s woodworking and Red Cedar Cabinets. He enjoyed woodworking and could look at a pile of wood and tell you what it should be, enjoyed putting puzzles together, he loved going for drives in the country and watching sunrises and sunsets.
He is survived by a daughter, Stacie Strauch (Pete Stanton) of Eleva, WI; 5 grandchildren, Shelby Bauer, Austin Pacholke, Alexa Pacholke, Carli Pacholke and Chelsi Widiker; his father, Arnold Strauch; 3 brothers, Dennis, Joe and John; 6 sisters, Pat (Don), Jean (Gary), Dawn, Julie, Sandy and Vicki (Roger); many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces; special friends, Terry and Joan Meyer & Barry and Barb Drasher; and his best friend, Daisy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy; mother, Joan; a brother, Bruce and a granddaughter, Tia.
Graveside Services will be held at 2PM Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI, with Military Rites accorded him by the Rice Lake Veteran Honor Guard.
Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is in charge of the arrangements.
