In Memory of David O. Elfers

December 15, 1968 - November 22, 2024

David Otto Elfers, 55, of Bloomer passed peacefully surrounded by his family on November 22, 2024. He was born December 15, 1968, in Barron, WI to Myron and Barbara (Balog) Elfers.

David had a wonderful ability to make those around him laugh and smile. He was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. It was very clear that David loved his family deeply. He also had a soft spot for his work family at Xcel Energy and formed many strong bonds.

He was very talented in the kitchen and his infamous deviled eggs and fish fries will be dearly remembered. David was proud to have been present to see his grandson be baptized while in Rochester.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. David was particularly proud to have just gotten an albatross, hole in one. It was while golfing that he met his new friend, Bruce. He also enjoyed the opportunities he had to travel to Canada, Lake Erie and Mesquite, NV. David especially loved the five different golf courses he played while in Mesquite.

He is survived by his children: Colin (Kylee) Elfers, and their son, Kaisen and Cody (Mykayla) Elfers; “adopted son”, Austin Keller; girlfriend, Louise Pavlusky; sisters: DeAnn (Charlie) Nelson of Cumberland, and Dawn (Joe) Greene of Turtle Lake; nieces and nephews: Jeremy Henck, Alicia (Jordan) Myers, and Noah (Katie) Greene; several great nieces and nephews; dear friend, Lisa Sunderland and other relatives. David was preceded in death by his parents: Myron and Barb; aunts, and uncles.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at 11 AM at Christ Lutheran Church - Pipe Lake with Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in St. Matthew Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are Noah Greene, Jeremy Henck, Todd Bader, Jordan Myers, Henry Selle, and Ryan Tjader. Visitation will be on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 4-7 PM at Skinner Funeral Home in Turtle Lake and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
