In Memory of David J Day
December 19, 1946 - March 1, 2017
David John Day, a long-time resident of Spooner and a 1965 graduate of Spooner High School, passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth after a long illness on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. He was 70 years old.
David received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and spent more than 25 years in the hotel industry, managing prestigious hotels in downtown Chicago and Minneapolis.
Illness brought him back to Spooner where he lived happily, enjoying life back in a small town. David loved music; he was an accomplished drummer and was a member of the local 60’s bands “The Quantrells” and “The Lancemen”.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Day and Charlotte Day Butterfield, and one sister, Patricia Tatro.
He is survived by his sister, Candyce Day Underwood (Keith), of Seminole, Florida, and brother, Richard Day (Terry), of Spooner; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Casper.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Spooner Funeral Home.
