In Memory of David Hulbert


March 21, 1951 - November 14, 2024

David Hulbert, age 73, a resident of Hayward, died on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Dove Health Care in Spooner.

David was born on March 21, 1951, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin to parents Fred and Hazel (Rossiter) Hulbert. After high school, he enlisted in the US Army in March 25, 1968 and was honorably discharged on March 24, 1971 with the rank of SP 5. Of his time in the Army, he served a year overseas in Vietnam and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal. After his discharge, he moved back to the Rice Lake/ Barron area. He then met Carol Seraphine and they were later married. The couple welcomed their first child Miranda in 1974, and their second child Josh in 1976. The couple then moved to Chilton, Wisconsin and divorced shortly thereafter. David moved back to Barron in 1987. After the death of his parents, he moved to South Beloit, Wisconsin and worked as a welder and mechanic for Scott Forge. In 1995, he bought some land and moved to Arkansas until this past May when he moved to Hayward to be close to his son and grandchildren.

David is survived by his son Josh (Sumie) Hulbert, 3 grandsons: Hayato, Shunya, Satoshi, all of Hayward, WI, brothers Dan (Linda), Bobby, and sister Debbie, all of Barron, WI.

David is preceded in death by his daughter Miranda in 2007, brothers Lawrence and Richard, and sisters: Karen, Ruth, and Carol.

Graveside services with full Military Honors will take place at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Spooner in the Spring of 2025.
