In Memory of David C. Holmes
David “Lumpy” Holmes passed away at home with family at his side listening to his niece reading poetry to him.
David was born August 16th 1959, the ninth child of Ruth and Joe Holmes. He attended school in Danbury and Webster. He served four years in the Army and was stationed in Germany for the majority of the time.
One of his favorite past times was carving pipes from pipestone, and you could tell when he was working on one because he was allergic to it, but he did it anyway. He is known for his turtle rattles, crafting diamond willow canes and many other crafts that took time and patience.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, several aunts and uncles, and his dog “Lucky” who was a rescue.
He is survived by his life partner Nicki, his daughter Annie and her life partner Polly, his beloved grandson Jack, three sisters and four brothers, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and to many friends to name.
David was cremated and there were no services per his wishes.
