In Memory of Darrell D. Anderson


March 13, 1937 - February 5, 2023

Darrell Anderson, of Luck, WI, passed away at the Divine Nursing Home in St. Croix Falls, on February 5, 2023 at the age of 85.

He was born in River Falls, WI to Theodore and Revena (Boles) Anderson on March 13, 1937.

He graduated from Osceola High School in 1955 and enlisted in the Army. He served until 1975 and retired as a Sergeant Major. Darrell was stationed at Ft. Gordon, GA where he learned International Morse Code, Ft. Devens, MA, Ft. Wolters, TX, Vint Hill Farms, VA, Vietnam, Korea, Taiwan, Germany and Turkey.

After the military, he attended college and studied carpentry and art. He worked construction and then held the job of County Veteran Service Officer for 20 years and helped veterans of Polk County.

He will be remembered as an artist, an avid model railroader, and a collector of railroad and military memorabilia. He spent many summers going to garage sales and antique shops looking for good deals.

After retiring, Darrell and Milda spent many winters traveling to Alabama and Arizona with their RV.

He is survived by his wife of almost 65 years, Milda, his children, Jeanne Anderson, Lynette (Jim) Sandlin, Sheila (Rory) Balzar, Debra Anderson, and Nathan (Michelle) Anderson, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, and sister.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the West Denmark Lutheran Church, 2478 170th Street, Luck, WI 54853.
