Darlene Ruth (Thron) De Nucci, 90, passed peacefully May 26, 2021 at Cumberland Care and Rehab.

Darlene was born July 21, 1930 in Hudson WI to Frank and Gladys (Case) Thron.

She grew up in Lakeland, MN where she eventually met James De Nucci. They were married on December 26, 1948 in Stillwater, MN. They made their home in North St Paul, MN where they raised their three children until moving to Cumberland in 1971.

Early on, Darlene was employed at the Toni Company in St Paul and then was a waitress and managed the Viking Cafe in North St. Paul. After moving to Cumberland, Darlene and James owned the Coffee Cup Cafe until 1974. She went to work at 3M in Cumberland until her retirement.

Darlene was known for her beautiful blue eyes and loving smile. She had a gentleness about her and her generosity went beyond measure. Her love for everything pink was known by all. Darlene was passionate about spending time with her grandchildren. She was a great cook providing many wonderful meals. She loved to go to garage sales with special friends and family.

Darlene is survived by her three children: Alan (Phyllis) De Nucci of Cumberland, Kevin (Tammy Perzichilli) De Nucci of Cumberland, and Robin (Roland) Strickland of Cumberland; 6 wonderful grandchildren and ten beautiful great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Marge De Nucci (Harry) Bartlett; other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents Frank and Gladys Thron; and her only brother Albert Thron.

A private service will be held at a later date.
