Daniel Hackel, 78, Cameron, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

Daniel was born on September 25, 1943 in Marshfield, the son of Isadore and Rose (Sybeldon) Hackel.

His father Isadore died in World War II, and earned a Purple Heart for his service. Daniel graduated from Marshfield Columbus High School before serving two years in the United States Navy. After spending most of his career as a Production Manager at Alumax Building Products in Marshfield, he retired from Felker Brothers Corporation, also in Marshfield. Daniel lived in Marshfield most of his life before moving to Cameron to be closer to his family and spend his remaining years doing what he loved most, deer hunting and fishing. He also loved gardening, playing cards, going to the casino, and rooting for the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers. Daniel is survived by his children, Rick (Callie), and Denay. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Danielle Ulrich, Isadore, Tyler, and Bradley Hackel, and seven great grandchildren. He is further survived by one sister, Mary Kilty, and two brothers, George, and Eugene Derfus.

He was predeceased by his wife of almost 50 years, Bunnie, his parents, his stepfather George Derfus, along with brothers and one sister. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is in charge or his arrangements.
