Daniel C. Carlson, age 81, of Wascott, WI passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital.

Daniel Clarence Carlson was born July 7, 1940, in Chicago, IL the son of Clarence and Gladys Carlson.

Dan’s parents purchased a tavern in northern Wisconsin and moved the family to Wascott, WI when Dan was only 6 years old. Dan would call Wascott, WI his home for the rest of his life. He attended and graduated from Northwood School in Minong and then continued his education at the University of Wisconsin, Superior and the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. Dan then began work with Machtronics in Minong, WI where they manufactured printing equipment. While working he was also a member of the U.S. Army Reserve. Dan took a job in sales with Link Recreational in Minong. He would spend over 30 years in this job and retire in 2012. Dan also was a founding member of Minong Trails Club and was active in the creation of ATV, UTV and snowmobile trails throughout northwestern Wisconsin. He was also an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family.

Dan is survived by his son, Danial A. (Natalie) Carlson of South Range, WI; one grandson, Daniel Carlson of South Range; and his special friend, Connie Link and her daughter, Jane Link-Hall.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering celebrating Dan’s life will be held in May at a time and place to be announced.
