Dale Robert Winger, age 93, resident of Chetek, WI passed away at the Mayo Clinic Health System Northland in Barron, WI on March 26, 2025.

He was born February 22, 1932, in Los Angeles, California, the son of Vernon J. and Goldiebel (Card) Winger.

Dale and his sister Marjorie were raised in Eau Claire after the death of their mother by Grandmother Anna Carolyn (Johnson) Winger. He attended Eau Claire High School graduating in 1950 and at the age of 18 married Marcia Ann Williams, daughter of Ralph and Irma (Scholfield) Williams.

Dale was a diesel mechanic by trade who loved collecting and fixing everything related to automotive (and then some). He worked as a mechanic for example at Dick Hamilton Buick in Eau Claire in 1959.

Dale and Marcia raised 5 children: Kathleen Ann Winger 1951–2024; Steven Leon Winger 1952–2016; Kenneth Ralph Winger 1955–2002; Thomas Vernon Winger 1957–2011; and Jerry Dale Winger 1960–2007.

They resided for many years in Eau Claire in the Town of Seymour after which he retired to Chetek, WI. Dale and Marcia enjoyed the winters from 1995 -2002 in Chandler, Arizona.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marcia (2018), sister Marjorie Hamiton (2013), and all of his children. He leaves behind 2 grandchildren; Terry Steven Winger of Chetek, WI and Nycole Renee Winger (Kaprelian) of Chippewa Falls, WI, as well as several great-grandchildren and nieces/nephews.

Dale was cremated.
