In Memory of Dair B. Stewart
Dair B. Stewart, 92 years old, of Siren, WI, passed away peacefully on December 8th, 2024.
Dair was born April 30, 1932, to Curtis and Ella Stewart, in the City of Siren, WI. After graduating from Siren High School in 1950, he entered the Navy in January of 1952. He was a Fire Control Technician on the USS Samuel N. Moore Naval Destroyer during the Korean War. He earned a National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Korean Service Medal and a United Nations Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in December of 1955.
He met the love of his life, Sharon Doran, in high school, and they were wed in 1956. They went on to have two children, Kelly and Lane.
Before Dair and Sharon retired together in 1985, they were local business owners. Together, they owned Dair’s TV Repair, Airport Lanes Bowing Ally, Dair Stewart Sporting Goods and Dair’s Bait and Bottle Shop. He was on the Village Board, served as a volunteer fireman, became the Siren Fire Chief, served as a first responder and was involved in the Lake Country Riders Snowmobile Cub.
While retired he enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, gardening, canning and running Sharon to garage sales.
Dair was predeceased by his wife, Sharon Stewart (Doran); his father, Curtis Stewart; mother, Ella Stewart (Hanson); two brothers, Wilbur Stewart and Russel Stewart; and one sister, Charmaine Alden (Stewart).
Dair is survived by children Kelly (Frank) Mazzuca, Lane (Jean) Stewart; grandchildren, Joeseph, Angela, Tyler (Rachel), and Tanner (Alonso); great-grandchild Callum, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many friends.
The memorial service for Dair will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM (visitation from 10-11 AM) at Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home in Siren, WI., with Pastor Steve Ward officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Zhashagiins Event Center.
