Connie K. Steen, age 88, of Barron passed away at her home on Saturday, January 11, 2025.

She was born on January 6, 1937, the daughter of Ivan and Mathilda (Amundson) Anderson. She was a Barron High School graduate. She married John Steen and with that marriage, they had five children.

Connie worked for Vanguard Insurance Agency for many years before purchasing the Agency. She sold the business and retired at the age of 72.

Connie was a member of the Barron Kiwanis for many years, also serving as the first female President of the Barron Chapter.

She had many wonderful adventures with her special friends, Barb and Jan. She was also on bowling and golfing leagues, making many friendships there.

She is survived by her sons, Mitchell (Roxanne) Steen of New Richmond and Vince Steen of Barron; daughters, Andrea (Vern) Severson of Turtle Lake, Sandra (Donald) Ekenstedt of Barron and Alison (Ken) Werner of Woodville; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers Nels Anderson of Hudson and Kirk (Kate) Anderson of Stillwater, Minnesota; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Nancy Eserhutt and LeeAnn Anderson.

A Celebration of Life for Connie will be held on Thursday, January 16 from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
