In Memory of Connie K. Richter
Connie Kay Richter, 79, of Shell Lake died Thursday, January 12, 2023, surrounded by family at Maple Ridge Care Center, Spooner, WI.
She was born August 3, 1943 to Howard and Clarice (Jacobson) Morey.
Connie graduated from Shell Lake High School in 1961. She was married to Rudy Richter and together they had two children, Mike and Lynn. They later divorced. She worked at WCSW Radio Station and at the Shell Lake Clinic prior to her early retirement due to health reasons.
She was a lifelong member of Salem Lutheran Church where she was involved in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Church Council and Bible Study. She volunteered a great deal of time to the Shell Lake After School Program. Hobbies and interests included gardening, reading books, Red Hat group, socializing with friends, quilting, cooking/baking, organizing Shell Lake High School class reunion events, and making stained glass. Her greatest enjoyment came from caring for her grandkids. She loved them with every ounce of her being and took great joy in nurturing them, teaching them, and being an active part of their lives.
Although she was faced with numerous health challenges and adversities in life, her strength and faith were a major force in how she lived. She was confident in God’s grace and never feared where she would spend eternity. Her prayers have covered all of us throughout life and her smile and kindness brought comfort to others.
