Colette “Lettie” Claire McCarthy Age 65, of Rice Lake, WI died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at her home.

She was born on August 21, 1953 in Milwaukee to Cecile Stevenson. Colette attended school in the Milwaukee area and was married to Eugene McCarthy on November 7, 1970 in Medford, WI. Lettie dairy farmed with her husband in Medford and moved to Hayward, WI in 1994. She cleaned homes and was a daycare provider for many years and moved to Rice Lake in 2014. She loved her grandchildren, fishing, being out on the boat, being outdoors, camping, crocheting and being with family.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene “Gene” McCarthy of Rice Lake; 3 children, Ron McCarthy of Barron, Richard McCarthy (Karla) of Webb Lake, WI and Janice McCarthy of Rice Lake; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Terry, Mike (Jenny), Arthur, Lisa (Reggie) and Michelle; sisters-in-laws, Char and Sandy (Mike); many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Cecile; a daughter-in-law, Brandy; and a brother, Steve.

A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 11AM-1PM at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake.
