In Memory of Clarence Edgar Voigtlander
March 22, 1924 - November 16, 2016
Clarence Edgar Voigtlander, age 92, of Spooner, WI, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN. He was born March 22, 1924 in Janesville, WI, the son of Glenn Owen and Viola Lenora (Chruchill) Voigtlander. He was united in marriage to Lottie Vivian Spaulding.
Clarence graduated high school in Des Plaines, IL. He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1946.Clarence farmed in Dundee, IL and later in Spooner for many years, followed by a long career with the U. S. Postal Service as a Post Master and rural letter carrier. He greatly enjoyed hunting and gunsmithing.
He is survived by his children Stanley (Kathleen) Voigtlander of Circle Pines, MN, Cheryl (Mike) McDonald of Cottage Grove, MN, Roger (Jenny) Voigtlander of Plymouth, WI, LaVonne Wilder of Prior Lake, MN and Sheldon (Kathryn) Voigtlander of Spooner, WI; daughter-in-law Susan Voigtlander, and his sisters, Leona Olson of Spooner, Lila (Myron) Moore of Spooner, Beatrice Stafford of Spooner, and Louise (Glenn) Larson of Forest Lake, MN.
In addition to his parents, Clarence is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lottie Voigtlander; his son Arthur Voigtlander, his brothers Vensel, Donald and William Voigtlander.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Spooner Wesleyan Church with Pastor Ron Gormong and Pastor LeRoy Drake officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am at the church. Interment will be at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
