In Memory of Cindy Ambelang

September 1, 1950 - October 31, 2019

Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Beales Ambelang, age 69, of Siren, passed away on October 31, 2019, at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by husband, Phil; sons, Matt (Mary) and Jim (Cheri); sister, Diane; brother, RK (Marsha); grandchildren: Mae and Valerian; and many nieces and nephews.

Cindy was born on September 1, 1950, in Minneapolis, MN, to parents, Mary (Hallett) and Richard Owen. She graduated from St. Anthony Village High School in 1968. After graduation, she attended Arizona State. She then traveled extensively through Mexico and the Yucatan.

On February 28, 1977, Cindy enlisted in the United States Air Force. She began basic training in San Antonio, TX, and ultimately became an inventory specialist stationed in McClellan AFB, CA. She left active duty and transferred to the guards to focus on raising her son. She was honorably discharged in December of 1978.

In 1998, Cindy moved to the Siren area and opened her own dance studio which she named, Cindy’s School of Dance. Cindy and Phil Ambelang joined hands in marriage on January 12, 2007. Together the couple owned and operated the VFW in Lewis for many years.

Cindy loved dance, music and her favorite TV programs, never missing an episode of Dancing with the Stars and various game shows, especially the Price is Right. Cindy and Phil spent time watching TV together too, as Cindy became a dedicated Packer, Badger and Brewer Fan. She loved being outdoors fishing and was known for out-fishing just about anyone who would go with her. She also had a passion for antiquing and had her own antique booth in Siren for many years. Her latest hobby was going thrift store shopping and lunch dates with her friends.

A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and dear friend to many, Cindy will be deeply missed.
