In Memory of Christine Korinke
Christine Korinke, age 100 of Hayward, WI, died Friday, June 21, 2019 at Country Terrace in Hayward.
Christine was born August 24, 1918 in Clearwater, NE, the daughter of Johannes and Sophia (Hansen) Johannsen. She grew up and attended school in Freeborn, MN. On July 1, 1944 she was united in marriage to Robert Korinke in Rockford, IL. Christine worked for JC Penny in Rockford for 16 years before retiring in 1984. She was an avid golfer and golfed for the Sandy Hollow Golf Club for many years until she moved to Couderay. Christine was also a huge Chicago Cubs fan.
She is survived by her daughter Linda Lee (Peter) Loria of Rockford, IL; son Richard (Amy) Korinke of Waconia, MN; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several nephews and nieces; and special friends Theresa Karpowicz & Jean Morris.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents Johannes & Sophia; brothers Edward (Margaret) Johannsen, Fritz (Helen) Johannsen; sister Ann Severtson.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hayward. Father David Neuschwander will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Saturday prior to Mass at the church. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Loves Park, IL.
Honorary bearers will be Dean Loria, Dr. Andrew Loria, Keith Korinke and Kristin Korinke,
