Catherine Mae Chambers, age 84, of Lac Courte Oreilles, WI, passed away Monday, May 20, 2024.

Catherine was born April 15, 1940, in Hayward the daughter of Antoine and Veronica (DeMarr) Crowe. Early in Catherine’s career she was contracted by the United States Navy to wire the cockpit of the new hovercraft they were building. This was something she was very proud to be a part of. Afterwards, she worked as a quality control inspector for many years until she retired. Catherine married the love of her life, John Chambers. The love she has for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren is unconditional. Catherine loved taking care of her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed playing cards, camping, fishing, and trips to the casino. Catherine was someone you could always count on, whether you know her or not. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her sons John (Lori) Chambers, Anthony (Vicky) Frigerio & Arthur (Shelly) Chambers; daughters Helen Ellison, Annette Arnold & Shelly Chambers; 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; brothers Jerry Crowe, Dale DeBrot & Warren DeBrot; sister Elaine DeBrot; many cousins, nephews & nieces.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband John; parents Antoine & Veronica; sisters Helen Crowe, Deanna Baker & Sue Quaderer; brothers Donald Crowe, Paul Crowe, Ronald Crowe & Antoine Crowe; and her mother-in-law Antonietta Chambers.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2024, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in New Post. Father Karunakar Madanu will officiate with music provided by Sister Felissa Zander. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at New Post Community Center.
