Casey A. Johnson, aka "Twinks," a resident of Ironwood, Michigan, and formerly of Hayward and New Brighton, Minnesota, passed away on June 19, 2019, at Essentia Health in Duluth at the 44 years of age.

Casey was born Oct. 1, 1974 in Minneapolis to Richard Swerdlick and Debra Johnson. While growing up in Hayward, he attended and graduated from Hayward High School, class of 1993. Casey was an avid collector of sports cards, and, unfortunately, a Minnesota Vikings fan. Casey enjoyed reminiscing about old times with close friends. He was well known for his kind and supportive words. A fun fact about Casey is he became an ordained minister one day for laughs, and many years later conducted a childhood friend's wedding.

Casey is survived by his father, Richard Swerdlick; mother, Debra Johnson; brother, Jamie Johnson; stepchildren, Ivy and Caelan Paschka; and many close friends.

A celebration of life will be held from 1 to 6 p.m., with a memorial service at 2 p.m.,  Saturday, July 13, at Rivers Edge in Hayward.

Memorials and flowers will be accepted prior to the service at River’s Edge on July 13.
