Carol Jean Hansen, age 68, of Cameron, WI passed away peacefully on October 31, 2024 at home in the care of her loving husband and children. She was born on March 13, 1956 in Rice Lake, WI to Warner and Lorraine (Peterson) Bayer. She attended school in Cameron and graduated from Cameron High School.

Carol brought joy, laughter and warmth to all who knew her. She graduated with an associate’s degree in information technology in 1999, a milestone that led to her fulfilling career in IT at Rice Lake Weighing Systems. She previously worked as a dental assistant at Lakeview Dental, where she was known for her kind and gentle care. Carol’s passions extended far beyond her professional life; she loved spending time around bonfires, often with a s’more in hand, and delighted in hunting for hidden treasures at garage and estate sales. She also enjoyed solving puzzles, country music, horses and watching funny movies. Carol will be remembered for her not-too-spicy chili, secret lasagna recipe, perfect pumpkin bars, and the mischievous smile that would light up her face.

Carol married the love of her life, Rick Hansen, on October 29, 1977. Together, they built a loving family and enjoyed 47 wonderful years of marriage. Carol is survived by her beloved husband: Rick, her sister: Janet Emerson, her sons: Ryan (Katie) Hansen and Matt (Hayley) Hansen, her five cherished grandchildren: Taylor, Jackson, Soren, Corbin and Finley, many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister: Linda (Tom) Dietert and brother-in-law: Dick Emerson.

Carol’s presence in our lives was a gift, and her memory will forever be remembered by her family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Living Water Lutheran Church in Cameron, WI. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and the memorial service will start at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ned Lenhart officiating. Lunch will be provided after the service. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
