In Memory of Brent A. McIntyre
Brent A. McIntyre, known to family & friends as “Bubba”, age 67, of Cameron, WI died Wednesday, July 17th, 2024 at his home with his beloved sister, Kim & dear friend, Bruce at his side.
He was born on July 25th, 1956 to Aaron & Dixie (Matteson) McIntyre in Rice Lake while they were vacationing in the area. Brent grew up in Milwaukee & Port Washington, WI where he graduated from Port Washington High School in 1974. After high school, he was active in Golden Gloves boxing & worked at various jobs including Simplicity, Freeman Chemicals, Flaherty Motors & the Schooner Pub. In 1993, he made the move to Cameron to go into partnership with his sister, Kim, as the new owners of the Cameron House Supper Club. For 17 years the community enjoyed Brent & Kim’s amazing fish fry & prime rib dinners. In 1995 & again in 2016, Brent was given the gift of life by sisters, Kim & Vicki, when they both donated a kidney to him. Hunting became a lifelong passion with trips up north with Grandpa McIntyre & Dad and continued in later years with many great friends, including Al & a buddy called Possum. Brent was an avid Packer Fan and you could also find him shooting the breeze & playing cards with long-time friend, Bruce at Bud’s Tool & Party Rental. Brent’s daughter, grandson, sisters, nieces & nephews were his biggest treasures. He was so happy when daughter, Katie & grandson, Trey came to visit him at the lake. “Lake Life” was his great joy. Many times during the year you would find Brent & his buddies fishing on Prairie Lake, Lake Michigan & in Canada.
Brent was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents: Ken & Lillian McIntyre and Andy & Vera Toth, as well as many aunts & uncles. He is survived by his daughter: Katie (Robbie) Charron, grandson: Trey, sisters: Kim Barribeau, Erin (Barry) Durrant & Vicki (Greg) Hilgart, nieces, & nephews: Michelle (Matt) Brooks, Melissa (Randall) Whiting, Joshua & Taylor Huseth, Tiffany (Vander) Durrant, Callie Huseth (Kevin), Kris (Lisa) Hilgart, Amanda (Logan) Butterfield & Mariah Hilgart, numerous grand nieces & nephews, as well as many other relatives & friends.
A visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Monday, July 22nd at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron with a memorial service following at 5:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Ralph Marquardt. Following the service a Celebration of Brent’s Life will be held at Wolf’s Den RV Campground Resort & Tavern in Cameron, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
