In Memory of Bradley O. Kahl
Bradley was born on October 21, 1946, in Prairie Farm; the son of Bernard Sr and Nellie Kahl. He was raised on the family dairy farm. He graduated from Prairie Farm High School in 1964 and proudly served in the United States Navy for four years, stationed in both Barbados and Sicily, Italy. Following his military service, Bradley spent 31 years working for the Barron County Sheriff’s office, a job he truly cherished.
On March 4, 1972, Bradley married the love of his life, Sandra (Ludy) Kahl. Together, they shared a deep bond built on love, laughter, and countless memories. Bradley’s greatest joys in life included spending time with his family, especially his sons, Chris and Tim, his daughter-in-law, Tina, and his granddaughters, Jenna and Brooke. He was a dedicated father and grandfather. He loved attending his granddaughters' sporting events, particularly basketball, where he cheered them on with great pride.
Bradley was known for his love of sports, and he spent many years playing for the beloved Twin Town Softball team. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, enjoyed trips with Sandra to Green Bay, Door County, and the Wisconsin Dells, and had a passion for cruising. Bradley also found great joy in playing cards every morning, often arguing with friends about who played the best hand. He was also a dedicated hunter, and he looked forward to the traditional spaghetti dinner with family every year during hunting season.
Bradley is survived by his wife, Sandra; sons, Christopher Kahl of Barron and Timothy (Tina) Kahl of Edgerton; granddaughters, Jenna and Brooke; and siblings, Barbara (Ronald) King of Turtle Lake, Linda (Donald) Thuftin of Almena, Bernard Jr. (Nancy) Kahl of Rice Lake, Michael Kahl of Turtle Lake, Debra (Bradley) Hemauer of Prairie Farm, and Jeffrey (Joan) Kahl of Chippewa Falls; brother-in-law, Robert (Connie) Ludy of Menomonie. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Sr. and Nellie (Olson) Kahl; his sister, Pat Hancock; his brother-in-law, Roger Hancock; his mother-in-law, Florence Ludy, and his father-in-law, Kenneth Ludy.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, and the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Stroke Association.
Bradley’s family will forever treasure the memories he created, his kind heart, and his unwavering love. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
