In Memory of Bonnie M. Johnson
Bonnie Marie Lillie Johnson was born March 14, 1946 in rural Clear Lake to Nicholas G. Lillie and Berniece E. (Harshman) Lillie. Bonnie was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, and graduated from the Clear Lake High School in 1964.
She married Robert L. Johnson from Amery on May 21, 1966 at the Grace Lutheran Church. Together, they had three children—Troy, Dawn and Travis. They lived in Hudson for a few years and then moved to Clayton, WI to be closer to their families. Robert passed away in 2010 and Bonnie moved to Barron to her daughter’s in 2020 because of her health. For the last three years, Bonnie lived in an apartment in Barron.
Bonnie loved to mow lawns in Clayton and helped out at the Clayton Blue Cheese Days with the little kids Tractor Pull. She also enjoyed four wheeling with her family and friends, visiting Charlie’s Bar, listening to karaoke, and painting her ceramics. Bonnie also loved to take care of her grandkids and great-grand kids. She became a second mom, grandmother, and friend to so many people.
Bonnie suffered many years with heart and kidney disease and diabetes. She passed away at Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire, WI on Thursday, July 25, 2024.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Berniece Lillie; husband, Robert; brother, David; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dennis and Joyce Seekins; brother-in-law, Richard M. Johnson; nephews, Gary Lillie Jr. and Richard L. Johnson; and special friend, Donnie Kittleson.
She leaves to mourn her sons, Troy (Tracy) Johnson and Travis (Trisha) Johnson; daughter, Dawn (John) Groehler; siblings, Gary (Darlene) Lillie, Helen Lillie Beyer, Dan (Regis) Johnson, Darla (Dave) Luke, and Paul (LaDonna) Flanigan; grandchildren, Dustin and Amanda Groehler, Bryce Brock, Ty and Madisyn Johnson, Tonya Odenbreit, Haelee McLeod, Nate Ahlm, and Greg Ahlm; great-grandchildren, Amara Taylor, Ava Knipfer, Wyatt, Owen and Evan Groehler; many nieces and nephews; and many more extended family members.
