In Memory of Bonnie J. Nutter


March 13, 1942 - May 19, 2024

Bonnie Jean Nutter was born March 13, 1942 in Winona, MN to La Verne and Florence Miller.

She moved to Racine, WI when she was very young and she graduated from (Washington Park HS in Racine). After High School, she went to work at J.I. Case Company. She married former husband Walter Hansen and in 1968 had heroldest daughter, Karen. Her parents then bought a farm in Rice Lake, WI, where she joined them to help work the farm. While in Rice Lake she metRonnie Rust and together they had her second daughter Jodie in 1982. They owned and operated Bar 22 Ranch on the west side of town. Ronnie and Bonnie were married until Ronnie’s death in 2000. After Ronnies death, Bonnie started working at Menards, where she worked for ten years. In 2007 Bonnie met Sam Nutter and they were happily married until his passing in 2012. Bonnie resided in Rice Lake for the remainder of her life and died peacefully with family by her side at Marshfield Medical Center. Throughout her life she had many hobbies and interests which included playing the keyboard and accordion, spending time with family and friends, golfing, rolling dice, and was quite the card shark. She adored animals greatly and the loves of her life were her dogs Scruffie and Winston. She was kindhearted and wonderful person who would give the shirt off her back for anyone. Her passion was to help people and make people happy, even when she wasn’t feeling good herself. She was loved immensely by all and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Jodie (Brian) Gourley and Karen (Mike) Misiak; 4 stepchildren, Ronda (Leon) Lundstrom, Steven Rust, Timothy (Nadine) Rust and Julie (Randy) Frick; 19 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gene Lindstrom; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ronnie Rust and Samuel Nutter; her parents, LaVerne and Florence Miller; 2 sisters, Betty Lindstrom and Lilah (Gary) Haarsma; a brother, Robert Miller.

Funeral Services will be held at 3PM Thursday, May 30, 2024 at World Harvest Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Arvid Moin officiating, with interment in Nora Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 1-3PM Thursday, May 30 at the Church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements.
