It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Bonnie Jean Hallberg (Peterson).

Bonnie passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 2nd in Luck, Wisconsin at the age of 82 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born on November 10, 1941, on the family farm in Clear Lake, Wisconsin, to Herbert and Elsie Peterson, the last of six siblings. She leaves us to join her family in heaven; brothers Jimmy, Charlie, and Bob, sisters Margie, and JoAnn, and her parents Herb and Elsie Peterson, all waiting for her with open arms.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Tom Hallberg, and dog Buffy; her daughter Shelly Youngberg, spouse Curt Youngberg, her son Shawn Sutliff, stepdaughter Heidi Green and spouse Doug Green, her grandchildren, Zack Fait, Abby Fait, Mark Youngberg, Amileah Sutliff, Erik Sutliff, and Ella Green, as well as many nieces and nephews and other family and friends that she cherished.

She worked in Hudson, Wisconsin at a hospital, nursing home, and a home for adults with special needs before moving to Balsam Lake where she worked at the Polk County Government Center for 27 years and 13 of those years were as Register of Deeds. She liked caring for others and made many friends.

Bonnie was fun-loving, caring, and charismatic. She loved music and reminisced often about her family’s dance band. She played piano, and saxophone and sang beautifully. Music was an important piece of her family history. She loved to socialize and never lost her love of others and sense of humor. She is now free, she is whole, and her presence will be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life for Bonnie will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Balsam Lake. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Please join the family for lunch and fellowship in the church basement following the service. Bonnie will be laid to rest at the Balsam Lake Cemetery at a later date.

The Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Centuria has been entrusted with arrangements.
