In Memory of Beverly Sorensen

June 8, 1962 - April 23, 2021

Beverly Jean Sorensen, 58, of Cumberland died, on April 23, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 8, 1962, in Cumberland, WI to Clare and Clara (Kuntz) Gross.

Bev was married at St. Ann Catholic Church in Turtle Lake on August 28, 1982, to Phillip Sorensen.

Bev was a woman of faith who attended the St. Anthony Parish in Cumberland. She was a loving, kind, and generous woman who cherished her family above all else. Bev especially loved being a grandma! Her faith in God and her loving family were the driving forces in her life, particularly during her final chapter.

Bev worked at the Cumberland Hospital for 30+ years as an account clerk. It was there where she met many friends. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and flower beds tending her gladiolus. Bev often went on walks with her family, friends, and her dogs. She also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and Badgers. Bev loved cooking for family and friends and spending time on the lake. Like her parents, Bev devotedly watched Wheel of Fortune on a nightly basis and relished traveling throughout North America.

She is survived by her husband, Phillip Sorensen; daughter, Katie (Shohrat) Annaberdyev; son, Bryan (Linnea) Sorensen; granddaughter, Elizabeth Annaberdyev; siblings: Gary Gross, Kathy (Bruce) Gehrman, Brad (Sue) Gross, Lou Ann Gross, Lynn (Ellen) Gross; numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clare and Clara Gross; and sister-in-law, Bev Gross.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Thursday, April 29, 2021, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Tom Thompson officiating. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland

In lieu of flowers, Bev would ask that you consider making a donation to the American Melanoma Foundation in her honor. A special thank you to Dr. Markovic and the staff at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Carlson and the staff at Cumberland Healthcare, the St. Croix Hospice staff, and Father Tom Thompson.

Skinner Funeral Home of Cumberland is serving the family.
