Betty Jane Reichert, age 83, of Hillsdale, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Barron Care and Rehab in Barron.

She was born July 23, 1936 in Ashland, the daughter of Emil and Esther (Frels) Amundson.  She grew up in Cable and graduated from the Cable High School.  On August 27, 1955, she married Peter Reichert in Cable.  Shortly after being married, Betty and Peter moved to the Hillsdale area and farmed.

Betty was very involved with the New Scandinavia Lutheran Church.  She always enjoyed being outside.  She liked to cook and also working in the garden.

Betty is survived by sons, Jeff (Kelly) Reichert of Barron and Gary Reichert of Hillsdale; 2 grandchildren; brother, Allen (Ann) Amundson of Cable; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Elmer, Vernon and Harold Amundson.

Funeral services for Betty Reichert will be Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Scandinavia Lutheran Church in Hillsdale with Pastor Peter Friberg officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be at the New Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
