Betty Jean Sharp Age 96, of Rice Lake, WI, died Friday, August 11, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on February 7, 1927 in Chippewa Falls, WI to Harry and Dorothy (Stair) Webber.

After graduating from Stanley High School in 1944 she was married to Thomas Sharp on February 2, 1946. Betty worked for the telephone company and Herberger’s Department store for over 30 years. She enjoyed sewing, making crafts and baking. You will always remember her for dressing up at ridiculous days and the many mock weddings she dressed up for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Gary) Hougas; 4 sons, Rick (Bev) Sharp, Larry (Linda) Sharp, Terry Sharp and Bob (Nita) Sharp; 7 grandchildren, Eric Sharp (Kelly), Michelle Kloss (Scotti), Bobbi (Joe) Weimert, Scott Sharp, Myriah (Josh) Farrell, Kristi (Rick) Seelnacht and Mandy Hougas (Romonte); 9 great grandchildren, Joseph and Dylan Kloss, Madelyn, McKenzie and Thomas Farrell, Addison and MacKenna Seelnacht, Gavin and Olivia Weimert; 2 brothers, Richard Webber and Robert Webber; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Sharp; her parents, Harry and Dorothy Webber; a sister, Jeri Ann Goodman; a brother, Thomas Webber.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the First United Methodist Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Jess De Los Santos officiating, with interment in the Orchard Beach Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 4-7 Wednesday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. There will be a Moose Memorial Service at 6:45PM Wednesday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Marshfield Medical Center - Rice Lake Hospice.
