Bernadean Arneson, 92, of Rice Lake passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 2, 2019 at Heritage Lakeside in Rice Lake, WI. She was born November 6, 1926 in Rice Lake to John and Myrtle (Martinson) Votruba.  She graduated from Cameron High  School in 1944 with 23 fellow classmates, many of whom became her life long, dear friends. On January 18, 1949 Bernadean married Donald  Arneson and together they raised 3 wonderful children (or so they would like to think). Bernadean loved spending time with her family. In her younger years she had lots of fun at the many block parties and the Sunday football games at  the Yarish's house. She and Don took many trips with them and other friends. She especially enjoyed her coffee time spent with her best friends; Leona Nelson, Dar Hildebrandt and Miriam Yarish.  Bernadean enjoyed gardening and never passed up a good garage sale.  She loved working at J.C. Penney  in Rice Lake.  She worked there for over 45 years, never missing a day and "retiring" several times. There was no need to ever ask her opinion, as she was always quick to let you know what she thought.

Bernadean is survived by her sons: Mike (Sheri) Arneson and David Arneson, both of Rice Lake; daughter, Patti Kjenstad of Lomita, California; grandchildren: Michelle (Gerry) Crose of Lexington, TN, Inga (Spencer) Wiest of Spencer, WI, Clint (Becky) Kjenstad of Odessa, TX, and Scott Kjenstad of Austin, TX, John Arneson, Angela Arneson, Christal Kraimer and Courtney Kraimer all of Rice Lake; 8 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don A. on Dec. 29, 2016, her sister, Pat Popp and son-in-law Randy Kjenstad.

We are so Happy for you Mom, that you got your wish and are now dancing the Polka with Dad once again. We love you both so very much and will miss you both forever and then some !! Now let the music play on!! A heartfelt Thank You to all the caring people at Heritage Lakeside and Marshfield Medical Center. Some people earn their angel wings while on earth.

A private funeral service and burial were held July 9,  at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
