In Memory of Barbara K. Williamson


June 16, 1939 - December 20, 2018

Barbara K. Williamson, age 79, of Hayward, WI passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Hayward Health Services surrounded by her family.

Barbara Kay was born June 16, 1939 in Hayward the daughter of George and Cora (Brevick) Dieckman. She was raised on the family farm near Moose Lake and then moved into town with family friends, so she could attend Hayward High School. After graduating from high school Barb started work for the power company in their billing department. On November 21, 1959 Barbara was joined in marriage to David Lee Williamson in Hayward. Barb began a dog grooming business at her home and later worked with Tremblay’s Sweet Shop, COOP Bakery and then William Distributing. In 1979, Barb and David purchased the Park Theater in Hayward which they operated for twenty-two years. Barb also volunteered for the Sawyer County Historical Museum and served on the board for numerous years as president and vice president. She was an active member of the Eastern Star for many years. She enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, playing bridge and having a Manhattan. She loved being with her grandchildren.

Barb is survived by her son, Jeff (Carol) Williamson of Hayward; Tina (Mike) Lillie of Eau Claire, WI; five grandchildren, Kyle (Mandi) Williamson, Megan (Emily) Williamson, Kaysiann Forde, Claire Williamson, Melinda Williamson; five great grandchildren, Kiana, David, Khaleesi, Derek, Cora; one sister, Isla Hams of Hayward; three nephews, Pete, Scott, Mark; five nieces, Sue, Dixie, Debbie, Dawn and Bryn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David “Snowball”, son, Derek; two brothers, Milton and Gary Dieckman; niece, Carmen Brandel and nephew Mike Dieckman.

A memorial service celebrating Barb’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at the Hayward Wesleyan Church with Pastor Loretta Sunderland officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 4, at the Hayward Funeral Home and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the church. A private interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Hayward this coming spring.
