In Memory of Barbara Csuti
Barbara Jane Csuti, 87, of Cumberland died Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Sacred Heart Hospital. She was born in Homeworth, OH on January 31, 1932. She was the daughter of John Rockefeller Gween and Louise (Decker) Gween.
While attending high school she worked in a bakery, and as a carhop and waitress at a restaurant. After graduating from Alliance High School, she was employed at Ohio Tool and Drill Co.
Barbara married Frank Csuti from Malvern, OH on September 16, 1950. In 1954, they moved to Crystal Lake, IL. In 1962, they moved to Cumberland, WI where Barbara was employed at Falcon Drill Co. until she retired in 2003. She was a project leader for Vermillion Cruisers 4-H Club and a certified Fair Judge.
In 1970, Barbara and Frank moved to the farm they had always dreamed of, where she created and tended many beautiful flower gardens. Barbara was a voracious reader and enjoyed countless hours watching the wildlife in her backyard. She was a devoted mother whose favorite times in life were surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her legacy lives on through all of them.
She is survived by her loving husband, Frank A. of Cumberland; children: Sandy Finseth of Turtle Lake, Frank Lynn (Pamela) Csuti of Ruskin, FL, Kathy (Stacy) Peterson of Milltown, Debbie (Ken) Scheps of Almena, Barb Whelan of Mondovi; grandchildren: Erik Finseth, Joshua Ebert, Erica Meyer, Stephanie Mills, Jenna Larson, Matthew Peterson, Derek Scheps, Nolan Scheps, Veronica Whelan, Rebecca Whelan, Alyssa Whelan, and Andrew Whelan; great-grandchildren: Nicholas, Slater, Samuel, Jackson, Donnelly, Lydia and Isaac; sister, Janet Gwynn of Malvern, OH; Son-in-law, Turk Finseth of Eau Claire; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Lorraine; granddaughter, Katie Scheps; sister, Mary Louise Brumbaugh; son-in-law, Timothy Whelan, D.C.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 9, 2020, at Augustana Lutheran Church with Pastor Shane Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery - Almena. Pallbearers are Erik Finseth, Joshua Ebert, Matthew Peterson, Derek Scheps, Nolan Scheps, and Andrew Whelan. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday at the Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland, and for 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
