In Memory of Audrey Sieh


May 24, 1929 - November 8, 2019

Audrey Coburn Sieh, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother died peacefully at home in Hayward on November 8, 2019. She was born in Hayward on May 24, 1929, and was a 1947 graduate of Hayward High School. She then attended Stout State College.

On September 8, 1948, she married Donald Sieh, also of Hayward. Shortly after their marriage, the couple moved to Northwest Ohio. They remained in Ohio until their retirement in 1992, at which time they returned to Hayward.

In the mid sixties she resumed her education, attending Northwestern Ohio School of Practical Nursing, in Toledo, Ohio where she graduated as class valedictorian. She spent her career working at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Toledo. A dedicated nurse, the early part of her career began as a coronary care nurse before joining the hospital's gastro-intestinal team, where she practiced until her retirement. She also served as president of the Northwestern Ohio Practical Nurse Association.

Audrey was an avid gardener who enjoyed growing a variety of vegetables, and flowers.  She was an active member of the Hayward Garden Club and Lioness Club.  Her other pleasures in life included cooking, reading, and collecting and restoring antiques.

She was a member of St Joseph’s Parish and the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribe.

 Left to cherish her memories are her daughters; Sharon Sieh Pilgrim of Cincinnati Ohio, and Jayne Sieh (Jim) Gaynor of Winchester Virginia,  son David Sieh of Hayward, three granddaughters, and six great grandchildren, sister Susan High of Virginia Beach, Virginia, as well as cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceding Audrey’s exit from earthly life were her husband, Donald, parents, Faye and Adrian Coburn; her sister, Bette Moynihan; her son-in-law, Bruce Pilgrim; as well as other dear friends and family members.

Friends may call at 10:00 am, Thursday November 14, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayward, Wisconsin.  A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am.
