In Memory of Audrey C. Rydeen

March 22, 1933 - April 22, 2023

Audrey Claire (Filbrandt) Rydeen, age 90 of Osceola, WI passed away at the Osceola Medical Center on April 22, 2023.

Audrey was born on March 22, 1933 in Ackley, Iowa to Otto and Edith Filbrandt.

She went to Steamboat Rock High School where she loved playing basketball, and graduated in 1951. That summer she was visiting with a friend who had moved to Wisconsin and attended a dance in Turtle Lake, WI where she met her husband, Jim Rydeen. They married on October 4, 1953 and moved to Osceola in 1956 where they raised their family.

She worked for several business including Champion Aircraft, the Osceola Hotel, the Korner Drug Store, St. Croix Medical Center, but spent most of her career working at the Osceola School District Office.

When she wasn't working, her and Jim would spend many weekends a year up north at the 'BoBoRaJi' with three other wonderful couples, their kids and many, many friends. For several years she was the secretary for the Osceola Rod & Gun Club. She was active in her church where she was in the choir and Ladies Aid. She may be best known for being the "keeper" of Jim's harmonicas. It wouldn't take much proding and she would reach into her tall wooden purse and the next thing you knew, the music began. When Jim and Audrey retired they moved to Danbury where she took up daily golf. During the winters months, they lived in Weslaco, TX where she took up swimming.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband James; parents, Otto and Edith; a son, Michael; brothers, Douglas and James; and in-laws, Shirley, Beverly, Richard, and Don. She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Peggy), and Jack (Terri); grandchildren, Kelli (Marces), Mychal, Katie (AJ), McClayne, and Lisa (Andrew); and great grandchildren, Adalyn, Harrison, Halle, Layne, and Elodie.

Memorials preferred to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
