Cook, Arnold H., 75, of Shell Lake, WI passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Indianhead Medical Center in Shell Lake, WI.
Arnold was born on January 16, 1942 in Spooner, WI to Harold and Ida (Creech) Cook. He was born and raised as a farmer and had his own farm. He also worked at the DNR and The Creamery. Before retiring and moving to Shell Lake, he hauled the US mail for Hoovestal Trucking out of Omaha, NE. Arnold served in the National Guard. He enjoyed; auctions, collecting tractors and “junk”, morning men’s gathering at Peggy’s Place, and family time.
Arnold is survived by: one son, Brian (Lydia) Cook of Spooner, one daughter, Julie Cook and fiancé Peter Steichen; three grandsons, Cory, Garrett, and Gunnar; three step-children, Lisa (Rich) Baker of Shell Lake, LeRoy (Barb) Haynes of Shell Lake, and William (Glenda) Haynes of Shell Lake; five step-grandchildren, Katie, Erik, Jessica, Kayla, and Jake, ex-wife and friend, Pat Cook, three brothers; Gene (Marge) Cook, William (Bonnie) Cook, and Richard Cook and significant other, Carol Sturtevant, one sister, Shirley (Carl) Ferguson, and several nieces and nephews.
Arnold was preceded in death by; his grandparents, parents, Harold and Ida, wife, Mary Cook, uncle, Kenneth Cook, sister-in-law, Carolee Cook, and aunt, Fern Shoquist.
A funeral service for Arnold will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11 AM at Spooner Funeral Home with Pastor Harlow Zellmer officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 4 until 7 PM, and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anah Cemetery with full military honors.
