In Memory of Arnie I. Stoeberl
Arnold Ignatz "Arnie" Stoeberl, 96, of Turtle Lake died Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Monroe Manor in Barron.
He was born June 13, 1927, in Eau Claire to Katherine Stoeberl.
Arnie attended Midway School, before graduating from Turtle Lake High School in 1945. He worked on his mother's farm for several years. He married Jacqueline Chartrand at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in the Town of Georgetown on April 21, 1951, and in 1961, they bought the Wistrom farm, which they farmed until 1998. He also drove school bus for many years, drove milk truck, plowed snow for the Town of Almena, drove semi, worked on silo unloaders, and barn clearners. Arnie was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. He prayed the Holy Rosary daily. His spare time was spent putting together puzzles, word searches, wood working, reading Scripture, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline, currently living in Barron; five sons: Arnold (Heidi) Stoeberl of Siren, Michael Stoeberl of Almena,Lawrence (Jeananne) Stoeberl of Almena, Richard (Angie) Stoeberl of Almena, Dale (Sue) Stoeberl of Almena; four daughters, Sally Suckut of Amery, Anita (Wally) Tomczik of Almena, Renee (Kenny) Hickerson of Andover, MN, Jean (Larry) Johnson of Cumberland; son-in-law, Jeff Cox of Ham Lake, MN; 30 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends. Arnie was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine; brothers, Robert "Conrad" Pearson, George (Fern) Pearson; sister, Virginia Pearson; daughter, Anne Cox; four grandchildren: Kenny Stoeberl, Amy Stoeberl, Cory and Jacque Suckut.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 Thursday, March 14, at the Skinner Funeral Home in Cumberland and for 1 hour prior to the Mass on Friday. There will be a Rosary Service at 6:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Almena with Father Tom Thompson officiating. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery with the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus serving as pallbearers.
