In Memory of Ardyce L. Kodesh
Ardyce Lorriane (nee, Novotny) Kodesh Age 98, of Haugen, WI, died Saturday, May 18, 2024 in Rice Lake, WI.
She was born on August 21, 1925 in Rice Lake to Edward and Clara (Svacina) Novotny. Ardyce graduated from High School and then married Rudolph Kodesh on June 17, 1947 in Haugen. Ardyce worked for US Badger Army Ammunition Plant in Baraboo, WI making ammunition for the war, West Brothers potato farms and also for Moore Food Products in Rice Lake. She loved gardening, traveling to other countries, playing cards with the Haugen Canasta Club, going for long rides in the car, baking Bohemian Kolaches. Ardyce loved going to plays and listening to music at the Ceska Opera House.
She is survived by her 4 children, Sheila (Larry) Barr, Mary Linder, Dan (Carolyn) Kodesh and Anita (Tony) Drost; 7 grandchildren, Carrie, Troy (Jessica), Trevor (Ashley), Brent, Adam, Alex (Lizzy) and Ana; 5 great grandchildren, Kiana, Samuel, Bexley, Oaklyn and Grey; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Kodesh; her parents, Edward and Clara Novotny; a son, Robert Kodesh; a son-in-law, Richard “Rick” Linder; a grandson-in-law, Jay Cablk; and a sister, Dorothy Simonton.
Funeral Services will be held at 1PM Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, with interment in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Haugen. Visitation will be held from 11AM-1PM Tuesday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Ceska Opera House in Haugen or the Haugen Museum.
