In Memory of Anny Harshman


April 22, 1936 - April 21, 2019

Anny Mae Harshman Age 82, of Rice Lake, WI died Sunday, April 21, 2019 at her home surrounded by her daughters.

She was born on April 22, 1936 in Stanfold Township, WI to Walter and Alice (Hamilton) Lofblad. Anny graduated from the Barron High School in 1954 and then attended Barron County Normal School for teachers. She was married to Jacob Harshman on August 11, 1956 at the Stanfold Lutheran Church in Rice Lake. Anny was a teacher in New Auburn, WI for 1st-8th grade, a substitute teacher, a caregiver and cleaned homes. Anny was very active at the First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake where she was in Altar Guild, Ladies Aide, Mary Martha Circle Lydia Circle, Bible Study, Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed cooking, was in Busy Hands, a 4H leader, Boy Scout and Den mother and a volunteer at Heritage Manor, Daybreak and Yours Mine and Ours Thrift Store.

She is survived by her daughters, Jennie Harshman of Eau Claire, WI and Ruth Ann (Michael) Grady of McFarland, WI; 3 grandchildren, Marinda Grady (Mike Edebohls), Michael Grady and Bobbi Jo (Joseph) Hubbell; 4 great grandchildren, Bentley, Joseph, Jorden and Joshua; 2 sisters, Myrtle (Marvin) Doering of Wonewoc, WI and June (Jim) Behnke of Reedsburg, WI; 2 sisters-in-law, Frances Lofblad of Hyndman, Pennsylvania and Ruth McFetridge of South St. Paul, MN; 2 brothers, Delbert (Marlys) Fankhauser of Stillwater, MN and Pat (DeEtte) Fankhauser of Cumberland, WI; Goddaughter, Marsheila (Paul) Onken of Mound, MN; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Harshman; a son, Bruce Harshman; and 2 brothers, Walter Lofblad and Jim McFetridge.

Funeral Services will be held at 1PM Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the First Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Rev. Jerry Bernecker officiating, with interment in the Orchard Beach Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held from 2-4PM Saturday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for one hour prior to the Funeral Service at the Church on Sunday. Advice from Anny - “Make sure you have Christ in your heart to keep going.” “Always like your friends and relatives and also love them.”
