In Memory of Anita Strickland


November 12, 1930 - May 4, 2020

Anita Miriam Strickland, 89 of Chetek, Wisconsin passed away on Monday evening, May 4, 2020 at the Meadowbrook Senior Living Apartments in Chetek with her loving husband Richard at her side.

Anita Lahde was born on November 12, 1930 in Saul Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada the daughter of Victor and Hilda (Mansika) Lahde.  After graduating from Suomi College which is now Findlandia University in Hancock MI she worked in her father's business until she met and then married Richard Strickland on May 10, 1956.

Anita was a very active member of Christ Lutheran Church where she volunteered in various charities, food shelf and many other things.  She will be dearly missed.

Anita leaves to celebrate her memory: her husband Richard, Chetek, sons, Stephen Strickland, Eau Claire and David Strickland, Milwaukee, WI; her daughter, Ruth (Bill) Eastham, New Auburn, WI; grandchildren, Aileen, Ben, Shay, Chyenne and Veronica, she is also survived by 7 great grandchildren..  She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Hilda Lahde, sister, Helen Laursen, and brothers, Ervi and Elmer Lahde.

The funeral service will be a private family funeral service at Christ Lutheran Church in Chetek.  She will be laid to rest at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery following the funeral.

The Burnham-Ours-Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek, has been entrusted with arrangements.
