Amy Linn Wetzel Age 52, of Rice Lake, WI, died Monday, July 15, 2024 in Rice Lake surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on December 6, 1971 in Rice Lake to Roy and Peggy (Nielsen) Wetzel.

Amy graduated from Rice Lake High School in 1990 and then attended WITC in Agriculture/Husbandry. She was an amazing horse trainer in harness horse racing. Amy was a member of the Harness Horse Racing Association. She loved being with and dedicated her life to her horses and her family, and enjoyed photography.

She is survived by a daughter, Mercedes (Jamie) Petersen; a son, Hunter (Becca) Ress; 5 grandchildren, Peytyn, Isabella, Casen, Tucker and Sawyer; her mother, Peggy Wetzel; and a brother, Wade Wetzel; uncles, aunts, cousins and other extended step family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Wetzel; and a half sister, Jill Wetzel.

Funeral Services will be held at 11AM Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Stanfold Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, Rev. John Bergson officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7PM Thursday, July 25 at the Stanfold Lutheran Church and for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI is assisting and serving the family with the arrangements.
