In Memory of Amanda S. Ridout
Amanda Ridout, age 43 of Milwaukee, passed away peacefully on April 30. She met her Creator after a long and valiant battle with Triple Negative Breast Cancer.
Amanda was born at Luther Hospital on November 14, 1978, to Forest (Jim) and Regina (nee: Selvig) Stanley of Maple Grove.
She was the youngest of a blended family – often referred to as the “caboose” by her dad. She was incredibly proud of being the youngest of her siblings and would often try to win points with teachers by mentioning she was “so and so’s” sister.
Growing up, Amanda loved singing, music and performing. She took piano lessons during her entire K-12 career from her mentor turned friend, JoAnn Matthys. She also took part in numerous community theater productions, choir, band, and anything that she could that involved performing. She graduated from Barron High School in 1997. From there, she attended St. Cloud State University. Amanda earned her bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology in 2001.
Amanda’s career was spent mostly in the world of hospitality. She loved working in hotels, and planning events. She was fortunate to be involved in the wonderful community of MPI-WI. She made so many friends and received so much support during her cancer fight from her MPI family.
Amanda married Brad Ridout May 15, 2004. They were introduced by Amanda’s co-worker, who happened to be Brad’s Cousin, Jennifer Jessick (now Renkes). At the end of their first date, Amanda knew that they would end up together. They were married less than two years later. Together, they have experienced the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows. All the while, they remained committed to each other and their marriage. They remained each other’s best friends, and Brad was a pillar of strength during her cancer battle. They created their own little family with their two dogs, Max and Tessa. Amanda feels incredibly grateful to have married into the Ridout family, who accepted her from the start, and provided exceptional love and support to Brad and Amanda through life’s ups and downs.
Although Brad was Amanda’s partner in love and life, she had other loves of her life. Amanda remained close to her childhood friends. Carmen, Jenelle, Danni and Tina have remained her constant companions, and sources of love and support. The other loves of her life were her family. Amanda’s family was always there to provide love, support and guidance throughout her entire life, and she is forever grateful to have been the baby sister.
Amanda is survived by her husband, Bradley, and fur babies Max and Tessa of Milwaukee; her father Jim (Evelyn) Stanley of Barron; siblings Joan (Bob) Schultz of La Crosse, Doug (Kari) Trott of Barron, Tim Stanley of Chetek, Diane (John) Brown of Chetek, Gary (Liz) Trott of Dallas, Danny (Missy) Stanley of Turtle Lake, Coryn (Tom) Hallgren of Cumberland, and Stacie (Scott) Romportl of Barronett; her father and mother in-law Tom and Sharon Ridout of Weyerhaeuser, brother-in-law Brett (Chastity) Ridout of Weyerhaeuser, sister-in-law Heather (Tim) Gerber of Cameron, and close cousin Nissa (Rich) Hochschild of Greenfield; eighteen nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews; forever friends Carmen Hakari of Rice Lake, Jenelle Misselt of Eau Claire, Dannielle White of Vadnais Heights, MN, Martina Heffernan of Brown Deer; and countless additional friends and colleagues.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Regina Stanley.
