In Memory of Allen Bentley


July 15, 1939 - March 1, 2022

Allen Charles Bentley, age 82 of Balsam Lake, WI passed away March 1, 2022 at Regions Hospital after a short illness with cancer.

Allen was born July 15, 1939 in the hospital in New Richmond, WI to Harlold & Myrtle (Kurschinski) Bentley.

He graduated from the New Richmond High School in 1957. He served in the National Guard. In December of 1957 he married Lorraine Hornbostel; they were married for 64 years. Together they had 2 children, daughter: Terri, son: Allen Jeffrey, 6 grandchildren, and 13 grandchildren.

He worked for a construction company in Illinois for a few months. Then he went to work for the St. Croix County Highway Department. Allen retired after 37 years, to enjoy early retirement at this home on the Apple River. He enjoyed fishing and just riding around the lake (White Ash) on the pontoon. Allen spent a lot of time in his shop doing woodworking. He bought a 1970 Buick Skylark, his pride and joy. He enjoyed taking his car to car shows (Often taking 1st or 2nd place) and he loved just taking it on road trips with friends. Allen also looked forward to seeing his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife: Lorraine, daughter: Terri (Duane) Cran, Amery, WI, son: Allen Jeffrey (Julie) Bentley, Somerset, WI, grandchildren; Ryan (Chloe) Cran, Mella (Mike) Schleusner, Cassandra (Brent) Johnson, Allen Joseph (Gina) Bentley, Michael Bentley, Amber (Johan) Gomez, great grandchildren; Gracie Cran, Teagan Cran, Jaxson Cran, Mason Schleusner, Myles Schleusner, Madelyn Schleusner, Lillian Johnson, Arianna Bentley, Allen William Bentley, Sophia Bentley, Nora Bentley, Johan Gomez, Luca Gomez, sisters; Myrna Anderson, Sheila Lindquist, June (Tom) Watters, Grace (Paul) Germain, Renee (Larry) Peabody, Joyce (Gary) Torkelson, Colleen (Jim) Zimmerman, brother in law: Norman (Maureen) Hornbostel, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Proceeded in death by his parents, both sets of grandparents, in laws; Henry & Vera Hornbostel, Raymond Anderson, Dean (Chick) Lindquist, and Donna (Clifford) Ellevold.

There will be a private family service held followed by a visitation for the public from 4pm to 6pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Williamson-White Funeral Home & Cremation Services
