In Memory of Alice R. Gadke

December 1, 1937 - December 8, 2023

Alice Rose (Seichter) Gadke Alice passed away peacefully on December 8, 2023 with a loving family by her side.

Born on December 1st, 1937 in Boyd, WI she was the daughter of the late Alfred & Frances (Weigel) Seichter.

Alice grew up in the Boyd area and graduated from Stanley High School. She had many jobs in her lifetime but her favorite was lovingly raising her large family. Alice was mom to her 9 (geniuses), grandma to 23, and great grandma to 25! Alice loved going on adventures and having a fun time with family and friends as long as she didn’t have to drive and there were snacks involved! She was a sports fanatic, cheering on all Wisconsin teams and her kids followed in her footsteps—Go Pack! She loved animals and found a real love for dogs later in life, they really won her over! Alice always had a strong faith and trusted in the Lord and his plan for her. She spent time volunteering for Pink Ribbon Advocacy of Barron County, Heritage Manor, and more. She was an amazing mom, grandma, great grandma, and friend and will never be forgotten.

Alice is survived by Guy Balow (Kelly), Donna Lecander(Pete), Marie Nett (Doug), Thomas Balow (Jenny), Benjamin Balow (Ann), Valerie Curry, Joseph Balow (Sharon), Rosanne Snowwhite (Paul), Chris Kohler (Roger), Siblings Dorothy Potaczek, Martin Seichter (Lorraine), Sylvester Seichter.

Preceded in death by daughter Jane Balow Krokstrom, husband William Gadke, her parents, six brothers and three sisters.

The family would like to thank all the angels who took great care of mom at Woodstone Memory Care and Hospice Care.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM Thursday, December 14, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, Father Isaiah Schick officiating, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7PM Wednesday at Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI and for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
