In Memory of Alfred L. Bearhart
Alfred “Al” L. Bearhart, Makode’ age 82, a resident of Cumberland passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024.
Al was born on May 16, 1942 in Hayward to William and Carrie Bearhart, Sr.
Al was an All Conference athlete in high school graduating in 1961 from Webster. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Army. He started his employment working as a factory worker in Minneapolis, MN at 3M. He then delivered propane for Suburban Propane in Hayward before settling at the St. Croix Casino’s in both Danbury and Turtle Lake where he held positions as a slot manager, general manager and finally Gaming Commissioner.
On October 31, 2008, Al married his wife, Susan Burcham in Deadwood, South Dakota.
In his free time, Al enjoyed golf, bowling and playing pool.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Bryan and Matthew; his parents; his sisters, Irene, Celo, Laverne and Marion; brothers, Tony, Morris, Dean and William.
He will be missed by his wife, Susan; children, Alan Bearhart, Carrie (Matrious) and William Bearhart, Sr., Sheryl Bearhart and Allie Bearhart; daughter in law, Becky; grandchildren, Taylor, Malaki, Liam, Mady, Sidney, Caleb, Tanner and Sophia; step children, Josie Germain and Tucker Germain; along with many great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Friends may call after 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at the Danbury Tribal Hall. Funeral service will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 10:00 with interment to follow at the Danbury Cemetery. Pallbearers Joe Morey, Liam Awes, John Bearhart, Malaki Bearhart, Morris Bearhart and Caleb Wessel. Honorary pallbearers will be Kim Skinaway, Ed Christiansen, Jr. and Gary Bearhart, Jr.
Arrangements were entrusted to Swedberg-Taylor Funeral Home, Webster.
