
In Memory of Albert H. Becker
Albert Henry Becker, age 91, of Hayward WI, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Hayward Health Services in Hayward, WI.
Albert was born on January 6, 1934, in Chicago, IL, the son of Albert and Alma (Glup) Becker. AL was raised in Cicero, IL where he graduated from J. Sterling Morton High School. After high school, Al went onto college at the University of Illinois.
On July 5, 1955, Al enlisted in the United States Army where he spent his time overseas in Germany. Al was then honorably discharged on June 20, 1958. After his time in the Army, Al moved back to Cicero where he was a part of the United States Army Reserves until 1963.
During this time, Al started working for the United States Postal Service in the surrounding areas of Chicago.
Albert purchased a home on Lake Lac Courte Oreilles in 1970 and moved to the Hayward area. Albert felt he truly had a blessed life. He enjoyed many things about the Hayward area including his many prized flowered gardens. Most of all, he just loved to go out fishing, enjoyed telling stories from the "good ol’ days", and watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Al was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; and two sisters, Loraine Becker and Florence Briggs.
A special interment will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Spooner, WI.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held at the Veterans Community Center in Hayward, WI on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with a light lunch included.
