In Memory of Alan L. Roettger


October 31, 1955 - May 31, 2022

Alan Leo Roettger, age 66, of Barron, passed away due to complications from Covid on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.

He was born October 31, 1955 to William and Beverly (Froehner) Roettger in Stillwater, MN. He eventually settled in the Barron area. On May 19, 2001, he married Wendy Thompson.

Together they worked on his passion, restoring classic cars. He always had an answer for a car question and if he didn't, he would find the answer.

He is survived by Wendy; daughters, Kayleen Thompson (Jason), Alyssa (Carl) Nelson, and Kayla (Ed) Percy; grandchildren, Brooke, Cayden, Easton and Caylee; mother, Beverly (Gene) Schutts; brother, Gary (Judy); mother and father-in-law, Glenn and Roberta Thompson; sisters-in-law, Lynette (Chris) Wisemiller, Cheryl Thompson, Melanie (Cal) Davis; brother-in-law, Mike (Nichole) Thompson; nieces and nephews; as well as special friends, Joey and Julie Humphrey.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Bill and grandson, Hunter.

A graveside service, for family and close friends, will be held at Salem Cemetery in Oak Park Heights, MN on Monday, June 6, 2022 at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will be held at Al and Wendy’s home on Saturday, June 18, 2022 starting at 1:00 pm. Weather permitting, please bring your classic cars.

Arrangements are being handled by Rausch and Steel Funeral Home in Barron.
