BURNETT COUNTY -- A woman is scheduled to change her plea on charges filed against her in Burnett County for alleged theft from the St. Croix Casino Danbury.
Criminal charges are filed against Angela Featherly, formerly of Minong, WI, alleging that she stole several thousand dollars from the casino in Danbury, WI in 2018 while employed there.
According to a criminal complaint filed against Featherly, she had been employed as supervisor of the player’s club department. The casino conducted an internal investigation by analyzing casino video records and computer activity records from the casino game machines between June 2018 and July 2018. Featherly allegedly created player test cards; load money onto the cards, and return when she was off duty, and use the remaining money on the cards.
On June 29th and 30th and then on July 5th and 6th Featherly allegedly used the “test cards” to redeem nearly $6,000 from casino machines.
Featherly’s employment was terminated following the casino’s investigation. Online circuit court records show that charges of Class H Felony Theft Business Setting ( > $5000 - $10,000 ) were filed in Burnett County Circuit Court against Featherly in March 2020.
She appeared in court regarding the charges in July 2020. In September 2020, the Court found a factual basis for a bind-over of the charges filed against Featherly and she entered a plea of Not Guilty. Featherly appeared most recently in August 2021 and according to online court records her defense attorney advised the Court that an agreement had been reached to settle the case.
Featherly is scheduled to appear in October 2021 for a plea hearing.
