SPOONER, WI -- Wild Rivers Habitat for Humanity is pleased to announce the election of five new members to its board of directors.

The new members include Lance Ausing; regional economic director at the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), Amber Zubik; small business owner, Ken Pearson; loan fund manager at the Northwest Regional Planning Commission, Scot Kelly; district administrator at the Northwood School District in Minong, Wisconsin, and Kirk Liljestrom; a multi-family housing technician at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Wild Rivers welcomes back retired teachers Grand Burdick and Mary Federle, who were re-elected to the board for another term. Donald Strunk Jr; vice president and branch manager of Shell Lake State Bank, will also remain as an advisor to the board. Wild Rivers would like to thank outgoing board members Carolyn Snyder and Steve Christiansen for their hard work and dedication.

Lance Ausing is the newly elected Chair of the Board of Directors. In addition to serving as the regional economic development director at WEDC, Ausing had been the lead programs specialist at USDA for over 10 years. His priorities for his term include strategic organizational growth and board leadership development.

The St. Croix Falls and Spooner ReStores sell new and gently-used home improvement goods, furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price. The proceeds are used by our local Habitat for Humanity affiliate to help build and renovate homes in Burnett, Polk, Rusk, and Washburn Counties.
