What's Going On Over At The Civic Center?

The Spooner Area Youth Hockey Association has kicked off their 2019-2020 season and there is a lot of activity over at The Spooner Civic Center!

There are four separate entities working out of The Spooner Civic Center. First is The Spooner Area Youth Hockey Association (SAYHA). SAYHA is holding practices Monday - Friday and Sundays and hosting games at The Civic Center on Saturdays and Sundays. This season SAYHA will be hosting tournaments at the Civic Center on the weekends of December 14th and 15th, 2019, January 18th and 19th, 2019 and February 15th and 16th, 2019. The second entity is the Wisconsin Lumberjacks. The Wisconsin Lumberjacks are part of the Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL). The SIJHL includes teams from Canda, Minnesota and now Wisconsin. Home games at the Civic Center have drawn crowds from throughout the region and will continue through March 2020. The next entity is the Northwest Icemen. The Northwest Icemen is the highschool team co-op that consists of the school districts from Spooner, Shell Lake, Cumberland, Barron, and Chetek-Weyerhaeuser. The next Northwest Icemen game that will be held at the Civic Center is on December 19th, 2019. Check out the Icemen schedule HERE.

The final entity is the Civic Center itself. The Civic Center houses the ice rink that is hosting all of the above hockey events, Hanks Up North Sports Bar and Grill, a 24/7 Gym, Ballroom, and Community Room. The solar panel array has been added to the roof and the turf room is under construction. The Civic Center continues to support the community by hosting organizations such as the BoyScouts, CubScouts and SAYHA activities. Check out the Civic Center events HERE.
